Dota 2 Patch 7.23 sees the introduction of 2 new heroes

One of the changes brought by Patch 7.23 is two new heroes, Void Spirit and Snapfire.

Their win rate is quite low (48% and 40% respectively), which is why we’re expecting to see them get buffed in the weeks ahead.

Both have excellent skills that will make a huge difference once people have mastered them. In particular, Snapfire’s ultimate ability can wreak havoc when it’s coupled with any AoE control ability.

The amount of damage it deals makes the hero a perfect pick to go with a Faceless Void, a Mars or a Disruptor.

Dota 2 Patch 7.23 New Buildings – Side shops have been replaced with outposts

Side shops have been removed and replaced with Outposts, which need to be activated in order to grant vision over a large area and experience at five-minute intervals, for the team that controls them.

They also allow players to teleport next to them. So just like the bounty runes and Roshan, they provide teams with a reason to fight for control and resources.

Dota 2 Patch 7.23 Multiple Couriers – Every hero gets their own courier

The days of one courier per team are over. Starting with Patch 7.23, every hero gets their own courier. And the stronger you get, the stronger the courier becomes.

Furthermore, your passive gold is no longer offered each second, independent of what’s happening in the game. It is now connected to the life of your courier. If the courier dies, you get no passive gold until it respawns.

Max Level 30

This is an important change for very long games. It won’t have any impact on the vast majority of matches because it really does take quite some time to reach level 30. But if you do get there, your whole talent tree gets unlocked. So the difference between level 29 and level 30 is massive.

Dota 2 Patch 7.23 sees multiple hero reworks

Like every patch, 7.23 has buffed and nerfed a lot of heroes. This change alone is guaranteed to completely rewrite the meta.

Item Reworks – Aghanims’ changes

Many Aghanims’ have been reworked. Among the most important ones is Invoker’s, which no longer reduces the cooldown of his Invoke ability.

The Biggest Change of All – Neutral Items

A total of 62 tier-based items will be dropping at random when killing neutral creeps.

The tiers go from 1 to 5 and they are connected to the number of minutes that have passed since the start of the game.

The deeper you get into the game, the higher the tier of the items that can drop. The drop rate is 10% each time and after each item you get for that tier, you lose half of that chance.

This RNG element will probably have a huge impact on games, as the items that drop vary wildly in their quality.
