SEA powerhouses announce roster shuffle ahead of the International 11 Regional Qualifiers

It’s a chaotic week for Southeast Asian teams prepping for the upcoming International 11 regional qualifiers. While some teams have finalized their roster since day 1 of DPC (2021-22), others are looking for a change in their line-up.

Talon Esports replaces coach, Forev

Talon Esports stands as the team with highest DPC points in TI11 SEA qualifiers. They certainly aren’t your run in the mill team since they have no shortage of high-profile players. Even so, their recent performance at ESL One Malaysia 2022 concluded with underwhelming results at tenth place.

Talon Esports decided to part ways with Lee “Forev” Sang-don, the coach with no replacement announced just yet. Fans are divided about Talon Esports’ decision as they believe it’s Brizio “Hyde” Budiana, the hard support player who needs a replacement.

Regardless, Talon Esports is still among the most anticipated teams to qualify for TI11, so we will look forward to the new coach.

Neon Esports revamps roster for TI11 qualifiers

It’s not a good DPC season for Neon Esports, which once rivalled other regional rivals. Neon Esports’ downhill performance sent the team from Division 1 status to losing their slot in Division 2 after DPC Tour 3.

Even so, Neon somehow managed to secure 5 DPC points, which secured them a spot in TI11 SEA Qualifiers. Neon has parted ways with many players during the timeline after DPC Tour 3. As of recent update, they picked up Prieme “PlayHard” Banquil as support and scouted a new carry player, Yalguunsaran “FortuneSoul” Oidov.

Another notable change is that they are putting Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan on the coach role. ChuaN is a former International 2 Champion, who recently returned to the competitive scene. Unfortunately, ChuaN’s performance as a player is underwhelming despite his social media updates on grinding ranked games in Dota 2.

inYourdreaM joins Army Geniuses

Make way for Indonesia’s most celebrated pub stomper, Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky. The prodigy garnered fame as a prodigy in pubs and played for many powerhouses in his career.

This time around, inYourdreaM is lending his strength to Army Geniuses, a staple in Division 2 bracket. Army Geniuses is not satisfied with their results in DPC SEA Tour 3, where they won third place.

Regardless, inYourdreaM is still a hit-or-miss in most teams. While not as notorious to play around as Talon’s Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, the former still has an unorthordox playstyle.

SMG rumored to be disqualified

In other news, there are speculations that team SMG is disqualified from the International 11 SEA qualifiers for not locking their roster on-time. They recently announced their new offlaner, Daryl “iceiceice” Koh, and perhaps missed the roster lock deadline.

While there’s still no official news regarding this, the popular third-party source, Liquipedia shows that team SMG is indeed a former participant.

Anyways, the TI11 SEA qualifier offers quite the selection of promising candidates. But, perhaps the most anticipated of them all is T1, which is led by Anathan “ana” Pham and Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen. In fact, most fans probably have their wagers set for T1 to qualify for TI11. Nevertheless, let’s hope the other opponents, such as Talon, Polaris Esports or RSG could give the returning champions a run for their money.
