DH SC2 Masters 2022 Valencia regionals held throughout May

DH SC2 Masters 2022 Valencia will finally bring Starcraft competition live as the first of the two offline Global Events of the ESL PRO Tour 2022/23. Before we get there, six sets of double open qualifiers and six regional events will decide the July main event participants.

The first LAN in a long while may have an impact on player performance, but it will most certainly have an impact on the viewers who are there in person. For now, we are in for a month full of Starcraft 2 action across the globe.

DH Masters Valencia open qualifiers & regional events

Such a big event, means each region has its own qualifiers and regional competitions. The qualifiers are played pretty much in the same way in all regions. First, players must qualify for the Regional qualifiers. Then, players who qualify play the group stage, and those who pass the group stage participate in the Playoffs, where winning or placing high may qualify them for the Main Event. Those who do qualify for the main event do not win any prize money, but they do get their expenses paid for travel, accommodation, and entrance to DreamHack Valencia 2022.

The main event is set for July 1st consisting of three group stages, knockout brackets, and playoffs. It is one of the most exciting events in 2022, not only because of the prize pool that is $100,000 but also because of the EPT Global Pts players can earn and the spot in the IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner of the event.

Open Qualifiers

Eight open qualifiers will be held between May 3-7th in all six regions. Qualified players will join those that earned their spot through the ESL Pro Tour 2021/22 rankings. Following the qualifier stage, each region (except Korea) will hold an event rewarding between one and four spots into the main event.

DH Masters Valencia Regional Events

Six regional events are scheduled once open qualifiers conclude:

Europe

  • The start date of the qualifier is May 18th, and it lasts until June 5th.
  • Thirty-two players participate in the group stage, sixteen move to the Playoffs, and the top four qualify for the main event.

North America

  • The start date of the qualifier is May 24th, and it lasts until June 5th.
  • Sixteen players participate in the group stage, eight move to the Playoffs, and the top two qualify for the main event.

Latin America

  • The start date of the qualifier is May 18th, and it lasts until May 22nd.
  • Eight players participate in the group stage, four move to the Playoffs, and only the winner qualifies for the main event.

China

  • The start date of the qualifier is May 25th, and it lasts until May 29th.
  • Eight players participate in the group stage, four move to the Playoffs, and only the winner qualifies for the main event.

TW/HK

  • The start date of the qualifier is May 18th, and it lasts until May 22nd.
  • Eight players participate in the group stage, four move to the Playoffs, and only the winner qualifies for the main event.

Oceania/RoA

  • The start date of the qualifier is May 18th, and it lasts until May 22nd.
  • Eight players participate in the group stage, four move to the Playoffs, and only the winner qualifies for the main event.

Korean players earn their spot through GSL Season 1

Players in Korea are already qualified through the 2022 Global StarCraft II League Season 1: Code S:
