The East Coast Throwdown is returning this year with a huge tournament covering some of the biggest fighting games. This event is having some changes. Including now being a DBFZWT power event. East Coast Throwdown 2022 is coming back with an in-person event over September 2022.
The tournament is going to feature a huge roster of games, with some great players competing.
The East Coast throwdown is going to be a fighting game tournament taking place over September 2-4th in Stamford. As the name would imply, this is an event focused on competitors around East Coast. However, there’s plenty of high-level players and talent attending for the new tournament. The event is going to feature a pretty wide spread of titles. There’s some of the biggest picks in fighting games, and some of more obscure ones in competition here.
The tournament is due to have 19 games on offer in total, by far the most so far at this series of events.
FightersZ is soon to get much anticipated rollback netcode. However, in-person tournaments are never going to be topped. This event is a key part of FighterZ. As announced at EVO, it’s part of the Dragon Ball FightersZ World Tour.
The FighterZ event at East Coast Throwdown 2022 is going to be a part of the World Tour. This means they’ll be a $1,000 prize pool in total. It’s an early fixture in the 22-23 Season. It’ll be good to see how competitors are looking at this stage here.
Vampire Savior at East Coast Throwdown 2022 is going to have a bit of a different format. The game is going to feature a $7,000 prize pool bonus in a 1-v-1 format. That’s fr the version playable on PC as part of the Capcom Fighting Collection. However, there will also be a 2-v-2 event further down the roster.
The East Coast Throwdown is going to feature all of the big hitters in fighting games right now. The FighterZ tournament is probably the most notewrothy. Just because of its place in the World Tour. However, there will also be all of these games in competition at the tournament.
This roster of games includes the big hitters like Street Fighter and Guilty Gear. However, there’s some weird picks here too like a Power Rangers game and some fan favourite retro Street Fighter Titles. FighterZ is the main pull. Be sure to check the other games too though.
